Registration and Briefing Held for Al-Quran Reading Scheme

In its efforts to produce youths who have the potential can read the Quran , the Islamic Studies Department introduced The Youth Tilawah Al-Quran Reading Scheme, or STAR.
The registration for the 20th intake of the Youth Tilawah Al-Quran Reading Scheme for the 2017-2018 session was held throughout the country.
147 students were selected In the Brunei Muara District to take part in the scheme at the Beribi Religious School. The learning session starts at 8 to 10 in the morning on every Friday and Sunday and it will be ongoing for 2 years.
7 male and 5 female students registered in the Belait District. During the registration held at the Pengiran Anak Puteri Rashidah Sa'adatul Bolkiah Religious School in Seria, a briefing was delivered by the teaching staff of the scheme in Belait District, where they highlighted the rules as well as matters that are related to scheme.
A total of 11 students have registered for the scheme at the Pengiran Anak Puteri Norain Religious School in the Tutong District. Mohammad Taib bin Jainal, Head of the IRK Section at the Islamic Studies Department as coordinator for the Youth Tilawah Al-Quran Reading Scheme Guidance class delivered the briefing.
The focal point for the Youth Tilawah Al-Quran Reading Scheme registration in the Temburong district was the Arab Preparatory school. 8 students took part. Awang Jefry Othman, the Islamic Religious Knowledge and Further Studies officer gave a briefing on the background and general guidance of the scheme.
