The Information Department's ongoing Personal Contact programme continued on Tuesday at the residence of Haji Damit bin Haji Laidin, the Village Head of Kampong Kota Batu and the Acting Head of Kampong Pintu Malim/Kampong Sungai Lampai.

The programme is one of several project activities being conducted by the department through its Public Relations, National and Community Unit in an effort to reach out to the country's citizens.
Mawardi bin Haji Mohammad, the Acting Director of Information, led a delegation of staff from various divisions and units, who were welcomed by the village head and members of Kampong Kota Batu, Kainpong Sungai Lampai and Kampong Pintu Malim Village Consultative Councils.

Apart from to improve bilateral relations between the government and the people, the programme is also a vehicle for the advancement of mukims and villages, especially those with products to be introduced to the local and international markets.

During the gathering, the department introduced the village residents to e-Pelita, the digital version of Pelita Brunei, as well as the online version of Pelita Brunei.

The members of the village consultative council were also briefed on the Information Society Programme', which enables anyone to access more information on Brunei Vision 2035 and the Syariah Penal Code Order 2013.
