A massive sinkhole has mysteriously appeared in the middle of a car park in Sheffield.
According to local reports, the crater opened up on Monday evening outside a Decathlon sports store.
Authorities later cordoned off the entire are around Eyre Street, and the shop has been forced to temporarily close.
The actual sinkhole – thought to be about the same size as a van – has also been fenced off.
There also appears to be an underground stream beneath the hole.
While the cause of this sinkhole is unknown, previous holes in the area have caved because of collapsed old mine workings, and burst heating pipes.
