Paying the zakat or tithe will never make a person poor or lessen his or her wealth.  This is because paying the zakat brings blessings from Allah the Almighty to both the wealthy payer and the recipient, as well as to the wealth from which the tithe is paid.  This was highlighted in yesterday's Friday sermon on, "Tithe and Alms Bring Blessings."  Like paying, the Zakat, giving alms can also enhance one's faith and piety as well as help the less fortunate.

In the Friday sermon, the prayer leaders said the country's people are very grateful that His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam has consented to the formation of the Mosque Construction Fund.  His Majesty declared the consent in a Titah at the Finals of the National Quran Reading Musabaqah For Adults highlighting that Al-Quran and Hadith say building mosques brings many blessings.  In the Titah, His Majesty added, contributing to mosque building is an investment for life in the Hereafter and this is promised by Allah the Almighty.  The money collected will be used to build new mosques as well as repair existing ones.
