BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN

The Magistrate's Court yesterday adjourned a case in which two local men allegedly abetted a conspiracy of culpable homicide linked to the death of a local man at the Kuala Lurah Control Post.

Supariddin bin Haji Mat Jinin and Haji Tuah bin Haji Tarip allegedly abetted other persons in a conspiracy to commit culpable homicide, not amounting to murder, of 44-year-old Haji Aziz bin Haji Johara during the wee hours of January 12 at the Kuala Lurah Control Post.

DPP Sharon Yeo informed the court that police are still processing evidence in the case. Senior Magistrate Haji Nabil Daraina bin Pehin Dato Ustaz Haji Badaruddin extended the defendants' remand and fixed the case for further mention on January 30. A charge of culpable homicide not amounting to murder as well as abetting it carry the penalty of life imprisonment.
