2 Men Face Bribe Charges

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN
Priscilla Topacio Verdad and Dendi Nirwanal, Filipino and Indonesian nationals respectively, are to face separate charges under Section 6 of the Prevention of Corruption Act (Chapter 131) brought before the Bandar Magistrate's Court.
Investigation made by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) shows that on July 23, 2012 at level 2 of the Estate Management and Project Development Unit of the Ministry of Health, Priscilla attempted to bribe a government official in the form of two pieces of Hua Ho drink vouchers worth $19 as an inducement for the said official to expedite the payment process for a project to Juredco Enterprise Co Sdn Bhd.
In a separate investigation conducted by the ACB, it was revealed that on December 15, 2015, Dendi Nirwanal attempted to bribe a police official with $50 as an inducement for the said official to refrain from taking action against the defendant for driving without a valid driving licence.
No pleas were taken as the charges were read before the defendants.
