A stage drama workshop was recently conducted by the Department of Co-Curriculum Education at the Ministry of Education (MoE), through its Akli Unit for students, teachers and counsellors participating the Stage Drama Competition for Secondary Schools and Colleges 2017.

The three-day workshop, organized by `Kumpulan Putra Seni', led by Mohammed Zefri Arif bin Mohammad Zain Ariff, was held at the Sarmayuda Hall of the Language and Literature Bureau (DBP).

Senior Education Officer and Akli Unit Head Hajah Hajidah binti Haji Abdul Wahab was present as the guest of honour.

The workshop was well-received with 112 students and mentors from 10 different secondary school and colleges participating.

The workshop managed to enhanced the participants’ knowledge in drama and acting. Also, it managed to build the students’ confidence while performing in front of a large audience. Moreover, it also provided the participants an overview of stage drama performances in the aspects script-writing, performing, acting, directing and cinematography.

The preliminary Stage Drama Competition will be running from February 27 to March 1, where the finals will be held on March 21.
