UBD to Send Off 37 Athletes for Universities Friendship Games

Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) will be sending a contingent of 37 athletes for the upcoming Borneo Universities Friendship Games to be hosted by Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) from April 20-22.
Aiming to improve from a previous outing in 2013 where UBD managed to obtain a bronze medal in futsal veteran category, the head of the contingent Dayang Hajah Joanna binti Haji Yacob, Acting Deputy Registrar (Academic) in an interview said, "This year we are taking part in four sporting events namely Football 9's (veteran), men's futsal, badminton and bowling."
"We hope that we can improve our result and bring medals for UBD in football and bowling," she added.
Hajah Joanna also conveyed her heartfelt gratitude to UBD for enabling the contingent to compete in the competition and hoped that through the games, the staff of UBD who come from different fields can further foster close ties and teamwork.

In a brief remark, Rubiah wished the contingent a good tournament and the best of luck.
The guest of honour also presented certificates of appreciation to sponsors who are supporting the contingent. They are Jim Works Sendirian Berhad, Shamem Enterprise, Doubles SS Trading and Juruukur CMK Consultant.
