Most people know that noodles are not a health food. But only a few know about their severe side effects.
Researchers say that instant noodles are one of the worst foods you can put in your mouth. Dr. Braden Kuo made this video to show what happens in the digestive tract when we eat instant noodles.
In the video, Dr. Braden compares how instant noodles and homemade noodles react in the stomach. He discovered that instant noodles didn’t break down after being in the stomach for over 2 hours. But homemade noodles were easily broken down.
This is very unusual since most processed foods are easily broken down in the digestive tract (because they lack fiber). In fact, instant noodles end up overworking the digestive system. But that’s not the worst part.
Noodles contain a toxic additive called tertiary butyl hydroquinone (TBHQ). You may notice that some ingredient lists say that TBHQ is an antioxidant, but that’s far from the truth. It’s simply a synthetic chemical with antioxidant properties.
You will find TBHQ in most unhealthy ingredients including pesticides, perfumes, varnishes and most McDonald’s foods.
Research shows that consuming 5 grams of this chemical can be lethal. And exposure to small amounts can cause nausea, vomiting, collapse, tinnitus, and delirium.
The good this is that our bodies can get rid of this toxin and prevent build-up. But consistent exposure can be harmful, studies show.
Instant noodles can cause metabolic syndrome
According to this study, people who consume instant noodles regularly have a higher risk of metabolic syndrome, whether they exercise or not. It’s was further discovered that women had a 68 percent higher risk of metabolic syndrome when they consumed instant noodles more than twice a week.
And you know what – metabolic syndrome is known to cause weight gain, inflammation, heart disease, diabetes and high blood pressure.
Most instant noodles also contain toxic chemicals including: Monosodium Glutamate (MSG), Benzopyrene, and Glutamic acid.
Monosodium Glutamate has been linked to Alzheimer’s disease, low testosterone levels and Parkinson’s disease.
