Assault Case Remanded

A 52-year-old local man to was ordered by the Magistrate Court to remain in remand, where the defendant faces a charge of attempting to commit robbery armed with a deadly weapon and inflicting harm to a 54-year-old local man.
No plea was taken from Daud bin Haji Zainal on the charge where the defendant was accused of attempting to rob the victim while armed with a silver chopping knife as well as slashing and hitting the victim's arms. Additional charges were imposed to the defendant for hurting the victim's 19-year-old son using the the same weapon.
The offences reportedly took place at a house in Kampong Mata-Mata Gadong at 2.20am on February 9, 2017.
Judge Radin Safiee bin Radin Mas Basiuni fixed the case for further mention on February 16, 2017.
