Malaysian Woman Charged For Assisting Bruneian Son to Enter Brunei Illegally

A 43-year-old Malaysian woman was ordered by the Magistrate’s Court to pay a fine of $2,500, or serve two months' jail in default, after she pleaded guilty to assisting her Bruneian son to enter the country without a passport.

 

Alus binti Aman arrived by car at the Kuala Lurah Control Post at around 11:07am on January 18, together with her son and another Malaysian woman.

 

After producing the woman passenger and her own passport for immigration clearance, she then proceeded for customs inspection, during which officers found her son hiding in the car boot.

 

Subsequent investigations led to the court case.DPP Emily Goh represented the Public Prosecutor in the case presided by Senior Magistrate Lailatul Zubaidah binti Haji Mohd Hussain.
