If you buy a game of Monopoly in the future, the family of game tokens will soon look very different.
Owners Hasbro decided to vote off one of the pieces, Big Brother style.

After putting it to players in an online poll, the token facing eviction is the thimble.
It has been part of the game since it was added in 1935, but soon it will be replaced by something more 21st century.
So, suggestions include a dinosaur, a rubber duck, an emoji and a hashtag.
Hasbro is holding a worldwide contest to let people choose the eight tokens to be included in the next generation of the property acquisition game, based on the real streets of Atlantic City, New Jersey.

Winners will be announced on March 19 and will be included in games hitting shelves this August.
