Foreign Man Found To Move Cash Illegally, Drug Possession

Ng Wooi Quak, a 48-year-old Malaysian national will tomorrow learn his fate after he pleaded guilty yesterday to moving cash illegally and possessing Methylamphetamine and a drug utensil.
Magistrate Azrimah binti Haji Abdul Rahman released the defendant on bail of $5,000 or in two local sureties.
The defendant was reported to be at the Brunei International Airport headed for Malaysia at 9.46am on April 2, 2014. He passed the Immigration and Customs check, but a police staff approached him at the departure area after receiving information from airport intelligence.
The policeman checked the defendant's hand carry and found 0.1868 grammes of Methylamphetamine contained in 0.2407 grammes of crystal substance, US$20,000 and a drug utensil.
DPP Yvonne Lim conducted the prosecution of the case.
