Bandar Seri Begawan

Isahak @ Ishaq bin Ahmad, a 58-year-old car salesman pleaded guilty to forging a document to cheat a bank.

Intermediate Court Judge Radin Safiee bin Radin Mas Basiuni adjourned the sentencing to February 21, 2017 to consider a fitting punishment on the defendant.

On August 26, 2011, the defendant, who was working at QAF Eurokars Sdn Bhd, forged a Baiduri Finance Berhad hire purchase credit proposal form.

The defendant had forged the document by deleting the original dealer's name, and entered the name of KDR Auto Sdn Bhd on a customer's purchase of a Porsche Cayenne Turbo worth $165,000 under an approved hire purchase agreement with the bank. The customer made a $40,000 down payment to the defendant.

With the forged documents being submitted to the bank for processing, the bank approved it and issued a cheque to KDR Auto Sdn Bhd in the amount of $127,500, with commission to the sales company included.

DPP Emily Goh conducted the prosecution of the case.
