Muslims in the country are urged to always be cautious towards deviant teachings that can divert their akidah or Islamic belief. This is because deviant teachings not only can cause chaos but also disunity among the community. The matter was raised in today's Friday Sermon, entitled, "Penyelewengan Aqidah dan perkara bid'ah," or "Deviation of Aqidah and Falsehood."

In the sermon, the prayer leader said that such teachings that are contradictory to Islam have often arise since the past until now, to trap Muslims particularly those who lack sound understanding of the true Islamic teachings. More worrying is when deviation of akidah reaches a dangerous level causing doubts about the belief that can affect one's iman or religious faith and Islamic akidah. The sermon also cautioned the ummah that such deviant teachings can also cause confusion in a religious life and threaten the security, stability and well-being of a nation as well as the unity of Muslims in the country. This is because such teachings can cause unrest and divisions in the society. People in the country are reminded to be wary of such incidents and to remain united against all deviant teachings.
