Autoriti Monetari Brunei Darussalam (AMBD) in collaboration with the Curriculum Development Department, Ministry of Education and the Local Employment and Workforce Development Agency (APTK), Ministry of Home Affairs held a Financial Planning Talk and Employment Workshop for higher education students in conjunction with Global Money Week.
The talk was held recently at the Lecture Room, ILIA Building, Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD).
The Financial Planning Talk was held in the morning by Dayang Siti Aminah binti Haji Abdul Rahman, a certified financial planner from Baiduri Bank.
Among the topics relayed by Siti Aminah were how to manage your finances as a student and the benefits of financial planning.
The Employment Workshop, held in the afternoon, consisted of two sessions: 'What do We See?' by the Human Resource Unit from QAF Group and 'Business, Why Not?' by three youth entrepreneurs.
The Human Resource Manager from the QAF Group, Dayang Julinda Dharmawan explained to the students what will be assessed during the hiring processes from the perspective of the employers.
Meanwhile, Dayang Sarina Taib, owner of Sweet As Sara; Aaron Goh, owner of Armtrix; and Dayang Muizzah Samat, owner of Wing-It shared their experiences in starting up a business, particularly what drove them towards the entrepreneurship path after working in a full-time job.
The talk and workshop were held in conjunction with Global Money Week 2016.
