Mohammad Hassanal bin Haji Abdul Rahman, who pleaded guilty last week withdrew his plea in the Magistrate’s Court.

The defendant pleaded guilty to punching a female security officer on the face and head multiple times at the Hua Ho Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Complex at around 2:15pm on February 6.

The defendant, in his mitigation told Chief Magistrate Muhammed Faisal bin Pehin Dato Haji Kefli that he changed his plea to not guilty because he made the decision when he was in a disturbed state of mind during the last trial.

The Chief Magistrate set March 4, 2017 to consider his new plea or continue with the sentencing, given the sufficient evidence to convict him.
