TUTONG

Over 20 students and lecturers under the Language and Literature Body of the Duli Pengiran Muda Al-Muhtadee Billah College (MDPMAMB) conducted a study visit to the Tutong District Office yesterday.

The objective of the trip was to learn about the role of the district office as well as the rich heritage and diversity of the district.

The delegation was led by Language and Literature Body Supervising Teacher, Dayang Hajah Siti Afsah binti Haji Matassan.

The visit provided students exposure to the roles and functions of the district office. They were also introduced to the ethnic cultural heritage and the various attractions of the district.

At the district office, the delegation was accompanied by Dayang Siti Joriahati binti Johari, Special Duties Officer cum Head of Corporate Section, Board Members of the Coordinator and Tourism Promotion Body of Tutong District, as well as staff at the Corporate Section.

The visit began with a briefing on Tutong District Office, followed by a visit to the Tutong District 1K1P Gallery which exhibits some of the unique products under the 'One Village, One Product' initiative.

The students also took an excursion to Tamu Serambangun Thursday Market, where they had a chance to see for themselves why the market has become so popular among the people.

They later visited the Sungai Basong Recreational Park, located near the main Tutong-Telisai Highway.

Here, the students viewed various attractions such as the Herbal Garden and five traditional house replicas representing the cultural heritage of different ethnic communities.
