A fine of $2,000, or two months of imprisonment in default was sentenced to a local man by the Magistrate’s Court for false representation to immigration authorities.
Mohammed Azlan bin Haji Adol, 28, and a friend arrived by car at the Kuala Lurah Control Post for departure clearance at 6:07pm, on October 4, 2015.
He then handed over another person's passport to the Immigration officer on duty.
Mohammed Azlan said that he had committed the offence because his actual passport was in the custody of his former employer.
Immigration Prosecutor Adi Yusra bin Haji Adanan represented the Public Prosecutor in the case presided by Senior Magistrate Azrimah binti Abdul Rahman.
