His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam has conferred State Honorary Medals to another 383 recipients. The Conferment Ceremony was held in conjunction with His Majesty's 70th Birthday celebrations. The ceremony took place yesterday at the Balai Singgahsana Indera Kenchana, Istana Nurul Iman.
Present as His Majesty's Personal Representative to present the state honorary medals was His Majesty's son, His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister's Office. Also attending was His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Malik ibni His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah.
The ceremony commenced with the presentation of the Pingat Jasa Kebaktian, PJK, or the Meritorious Service Medal, to 29 recipients. The recipients comprised officers and staff of the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Development, Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports as well as private sector employees and athletes.
Among the criteria for the medal award are praiseworthy attitude and good behaviour as well as undivided loyalty towards His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, the nation and religion.
354 recipients were awarded the Pingat Indah Kerja Baik (PIKB). Leading the recipients was Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Muda Abdul Hakeem ibni His Royal Highness Prince Haji Jefri Bolkiah. Recipients comprise officers and staff from the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Religious Affairs, Ministry of Development, Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, Ministry of Health, private sector employees and athletes.
The recipients of these medals should possess a clean record in all services with His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam's government and have at least good performance appraisal for the last 3 years.
To bless the ceremony, doa selamat was read by Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja Dato Paduka Seri Setia Doctor Ustaz Haji Awang Abdul Aziz bin Juned, the State Mufti.
Also present at the ceremony were Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Cheterias, Cabinet Ministers, Members of Councils, Deputy Ministers, Pengiran Peranakan, Pehin Manteris, Manteri Pedalaman, High Commissioners, Foreign Ambassadors, Permanent Secretaries, Heads of Departments and Senior Government Officers, as well as Mukim Penghulus and Village Chiefs.
