The Universiti Technologi Brunei (UTB) Library is holding a book bazaar from April 18-21 at the library to commemorate the 30th anniversary of UTB.

The objectives of the UTB Library Book Bazaar (ULBB) are to promote library activities; to provide opportunities for academics to personally meet local and overseas book vendors to select new titles; to inform academics of the latest published academic books and references in different fields to support teaching, learning, research activities and general reading; to enrich the library collection with the latest published academic books, references and general topics on different fields; and to enhance the community's awareness on the empowerment of knowledge and reading culture as a source of inspiration for lifelong learning in our daily lives.

Eleven vendors are participating in the ULBB, four of which are government agencies - the State Mufti's, Department of Economic Planning and Development, the Brunei History Centre and Religious Teachers University College of Seri Begawan.

Six local vendors, Asfi Book World Sendirian Berhad, Book Lane Enterprise, Early Childhood Publications Co, Samima Sendirian Berhad, The Story Shop and Umitech Books Distribution are also participating in the event.

The other participant is a foreign vendor, United Technology (M) Sendirian Berhad.

Secondhand books that are still in good condition are also for sale at the bazaar.

UTB Vice-Chancellor Associate Professor Dr. Hajah Zohrah binti Haji Sulaiman presented certificates of appreciation to all vendors during her visit to the bazaar.

The ULBB is open to staff and students of institutions of higher learning and members of the public from 8.30am to 5pm.
