DARE (Darussalam Enterprise) yesterday announced that His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam consented to the appointment of three new members to DARe's Board.

They are Dato Paduka Dr. Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew bin Abdullah, Deputy Minister of Finance as Deputy Chairman; Dr. Haji Kamaruddin bin Dato Seri Paduka Haji Talib, President of Malay Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Chairman of National Chamber of Commerce and Industry; and Pengiran Haji Adanan bin Pengiran Seri Indera Pengiran Haji Ismail, Managing Director of Sahid Sendirian Berhad and Director of Simpor Pharma Sendirian Berhad as additional members to the board.

With this new addition, 16 out of 19 members of DARe's Board is constituted by the private sector with members representing various industries including banking, construction, shipping and logistics, food, oil and gas, IT as well as various associations and professional bodies.

This group of private sector representatives is expected to bring the technical know-how and core expertise in shaping the development of the country's business sectors and ensure that the business needs of the small and medium enterprises (SMEs) can be optimally tackled and addressed from the business standpoint.
