Royal Attends Friendly Polo Exhibition Match

Her Royal Highness Princess 'Azemah Ni'matul Bolkiah binti His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah yesterday consented to attend and participate in a Friendly Polo Exhibition Match between Brunei Polo Team and 61 Cavalry Indian Army Polo Team. The Friendly Exhibition took place at the Royal Brunei Polo and Riding Club Jerudong.
The Brunei Polo Team was led by Her Royal Highness Princess 'Azemah Ni'matul Bolkiah whilst the 61 Cavalry Indian was led by Colonel Rajesh Pattu. The Friendly Exhibition Polo Match is organised in conjunction with His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam 70th Birthday Celebration.
Prior to this, His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam has had a long association with the 61 Cavalry India Army Polo Team with whom His Majesty has previously played with the Polo Team.
In the exhibition match, Brunei Polo team defeated Polo 61 Cavalry with a score of 10-4 in 4 chukkas. His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam have consented to present prizes to the participating teams.
Also present were, His Royal Highness Prince Mohamed Bolkiah; His Royal Highness Prince Haji Jefri Bolkiah; His Royal Highness Prince Abdul Wakeel; Her Royal Highness Princess Ameerah Wardatul Bolkiah and Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Masna.
Also present to watch the Friendly Match were polo players from Royal Brunei Armed Forces, Royal Brunei Police Force and the Veterans teams. The Friendly Polo Exhibition Match symbolised goodwill and friendship of the Government and people, which is hoped to further strengthen the existing ties of friendship between Brunei Darussalam and the Republic of India in various fields for the mutual benefits of the two countries.
