Royal Attends 13th Borneo Global Issues Conference

The need for the young generation to be responsible in together tackling issues faced by the global community such as poverty and inequality, to ensure a better future. Therefore, the international community must further raise their awareness among the young generation on the problems that they will face and equip them with the skill to resolve them.
Her Royal Highness Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Sarah binti Pengiran Haji Salleh Ab Rahaman made the sabda at the Official Opening of the 13th Borneo Global Issues Conference of the International School Brunei, ISB BGIC held yesterday. The ceremony took place at the International Convention Centre in Berakas.
Upon arrival, Her Royal Highness Pengiran Anak Isteri, who is the Royal Patron of ISB - BGIC was greeted by Mr. Nick King, Vice Chairman of Board of Directors of ISB, and Mr. Roberts Commons, ISB's Head of Secondary Section. In his welcoming address, Mr. Commons spoke on the current of global issues.
Three invited speakers shared initiatives taken in tackling global environment issues. The theme of this year's conference is Ensuring Sustainable Consumption and Production Patterns. After the sabda, Her Royal Highness officiated the conference. The three invited speakers were Kenny Peavy, Environmentalist and blogger; Dr. Wong Siew Te, Chief Executive Officer and founder of the Borneo Bear Rehabilitation Centre and Karan Jerath, Youth Leader of the United Nations for the objective of the Sustainability Development.
The theme of this year's conference is Ensuring Sustainable Consumption and Production Patterns. Her Royal Highness, in her sabda added that students involved in the conference shows their great responsibility to ensure a prosperous and sustainable future for the present and next generations.
Her Royal Highness officiated the 13th Borneo Global Issues Conference of the International School Brunei. Her Royal Highness also presented certificates to speakers and organised of the conference. Her Royal Highness then received the Pasambah. More than 150 students from 21 schools attended the conference. The 4-day conference provides the best solutions to global problems.
