Yesterday's meeting also deliberated budget allocation for the Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism amounting to more than 51 million dollars. Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Ali bin Apong, the Minister of Primary Resources and Tourism in his opening remarks shared the Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism 2016-2020 strategic plan.

 

Through the strategic plan, Yang Berhormat said his ministry's vision is towards the rapid growth of the production of the Primary Resources and Tourism industry that will be able to contribute to the economic growth in achieving Wawasan Brunei 2035.

 

According to Yang Berhormat, his ministry's mission is to lead the production growth of the primary resources and tourism to act as a significant contributor to the Gross Domestic Product, GDP by encouraging local and foreign investments and emphasising on boosting productivity, high-technology usage as well as focusing on the export market. The strategic plan also highlighted the main programmes and planning that will be carried out with Key Performance Indicator, KPI targets which is being monitored and have been achieved by the ministry together with relevant stakeholders.
