400 Take Part in 22nd National Scouts Camp

Over 400 scouts comprising of Cub Scouts, Junior Scouts, Venture Scouts and Rover Scouts take part in the 22nd National Scouts Camp. The camp among other things aims to build the scout's self identity as well as their leadership skills from the grass root level. The 4-day camp held at the National Scouts Training and Activity Centre carries the theme "Membangun Keperibadian Generasi Muda Melalui Kaedah Berpengakap", or Building the Young Generation's Personality through Scouting.
The camp was officiated by Pengiran Dato Paduka Haji Bahrom bin Pengiran Haji Bahar, Deputy Minister of Education. Among those in attendance were Dato Paduka Haji Idris bin Haji Abas, President of the Brunei Darussalam Scouts Association, and Haji Awang Badar bin Haji Awang Ali, Chief Commissioner of Brunei Darussalam Scouts Association. Joining the camp alongside the country's scouts are scouts from the Scouts Association of Malaysia of Sabah, Sarawak, Labuan as well as the Gerakan Pramuka Indonesia.
The function ran concurrently with the presentation of the 2nd Class Meritorious Award - Silver to Retired Major General Professor Dato' Doctor Mohd Zin bin Bidin, Chief Commissioner of the Scouts Association of Malaysia and Adhyaksa Dault, Chief Commissioner of Gerakan Pramuka Indonesia. Meanwhile, 9 scouts from the Scouts Association of Malaysia received the Brunei Darussalam International Friendship Award. The International Friendship Award is conferred to international scouts who have achieved excellence in strengthening international relations either with the National Scouts Association or the Non-Government Organisations.
