Bandar Seri Begawan

As part of its commitment to promote Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) learning, the Oil and Gas Discovery Center, OGDC in collaboration with Universiti Teknologi Brunei, UTB for the first time is conducting the Jumpstart Junior Innovation Engineering programme for the secondary school students in Brunei Darussalam. The programme took place at Universiti Teknologi Brunei yesterday.

The programme's aim is to provide a platform that will engage, inspire and motivate secondary school students to develop a passion for STEM careers at a young age through a hands-on, learn-by-doing robotics workshop. This year's programme focused on the Robotic VEX EDR System. More than 20 students ranging from year 7 to year 10 from all over the country have registered for this programme. During the 5-day course, the participants will be exposed to not only building the robots, but also taught elements crucial to engineering such as project management, construction and mechanical design.
