With the theme, 'Membangun Keperibadian Generasi Muda Melalui Kaedah Berpengakap' or 'Building the Character of the Young Generation Through Scouting' several suitable activities have been arranged for the participants of the 22nd National Scouts Camp. One such 4-day activity is taking place at the National Scouts Training and Activity Centre at the Scouts Complex in Gadong.
The camp now in its third day continued with activities that included teaching the participants to better know the environment, skills to help others, talent scouting and to be independent. In the camp's compulsory activities, the participants learnt a number of knots for camping, and building tables or chairs. In crafts activities, they had to make handicraft from recycled materials or wood and could be used during the camping activity.
The HAM-RADIO activity was a major attraction for the participants. It was organised by the Amateur Radio Club of the Brunei Darussalam Scouts Association and intended to develop the scout’s interest in the basics on Ham-Radio and electronics, using specific codes.
The scouts were also taught to build and develop self-esteem as well as leadership qualities from the grass roots level and develop resilience, initiative and productivity by passing obstacle courses. Moving as a team is the core of the activity. The scouts were also taught cooking skills. Apart from the Brunei Darussalam National Scouts Association, the camp was also participated by the Malaysian Scouts Federation from the Sabah, Sarawak and Federal Territory of Labuan branches and also the Indonesian Scouts Movement. Several foreign participants shared their experiences in interviews with the media.
