The Bolaven Plateau Coffee Producers Cooperative (CPC) exported over 1,000 tonnes of coffee last year, yet it predicts that its coffee export will fall this year.
The Bolaven Plateau Coffee Producers Cooperative was established in 2007 under cooperation between Lao and French governments. It began to export green coffee in 2009 and its annual export has remained at 1,000 tonnes since 2012.
CPC membership consists of more than 1,800 coffee farmers in three southern provinces: Champasak, Saravan, and Sekong.
The cooperative has an ambitious plan to increase its green coffee export to over 1,300 tonnes per year, according to CPC President Mr. Bounthong Thepkaysone.
