The Council of ASEAN Chief Justices is being urged to maintain the momentum it had gained over the years in building its partnership and enhancing cooperation as it will only grow stronger as long as it remains committed to the vision for court excellence for all ASEAN Member States. This was stated by by the Honourable Dato Seri Paduka Haji Kifrawi bin Dato Paduka Haji Kifli, The Chief Justice of Brunei Darussalam at the Opening ceremony of the 5th Council of ASEAN Chief Justices, CACJ Meeting yesterday.

The CACJ meeting is held annually and the fourth meeting was held last year in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. This year, Brunei Darussalam has been given the honour to hold the 5th such meeting. The meeting, among other things, is to promote close relations and mutual understanding among the ASEAN judiciaries and to promote a regular forum for the ASEAN Chief Justices to discuss and exchange views on common issues facing the ASEAN judiciaries. Also present was Dato Paduka Awang Haji Muhammad Juanda bin Haji Abdul Rashid, the Permanent Secretary at the Prime Minister's Office and the Director of the Ant- Corruption Bureau.
