Kampong Sengkarai Holds Handing Over Mosque Key Ceremony

The new Kampong Sengkarai mosque in Tutong District will be utilized soon. The handing over of the mosque key ceremony was held yesterday morning. The ceremony began with a mass reading of Al-Fatihah led by Awang Haji Deli bin Haji Raya, the Imam of Kampong Sengkarai mosque.

 

That was followed by the handing over of the mosque key by Awang Haji Abdul Aziz bin Haji Akop, Acting Secretary of Brunei Islamic Religious Council to Awang Haji Amir Hisham bin Haji Masri, Acting Director of Mosque Affairs who then handed over the mosque key to the mosque Imam.

 

The new mosque stands on a two-hectare site with an allocation by the Brunei Islamic Religious Council from the Al-Gharimin tithe money with an estimated cost of $3,833,535. The mosque can accommodate about one thousand congregants. Among the facilities provided are the counselling room, funeral rites room and a pathway for the disabled.
