His Majesty Attends New Mosque’s First Friday Prayer

His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, yesterday afternoon performed the first Friday Prayer at the Pengiran Anak Haji Mohamed Alam Mosque in Kampung Sengkarai. The new mosque is located in the Tutong district.
Upon arrival His Majesty was greeted by Yang Berhormat Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Othman, the Minister of Religious Affairs and Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja Dato Paduka Seri Setia Doctor Ustaz Haji Awang Abdul Aziz bin Juned, the State Mufti. Shortly after arrival, His Majesty proceeded to the Lobby of the mosque and signed a plaque accompanied by the resounding of Takbir led the Minister of Religious Affairs
Also present were His Majesty's sons, His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Malik. The First Azan or call for prayer for the Friday prayer was performed by Awang Haji Md Deli bin Haji Raya.
Meanwhile, the khutbah Jumaat or Friday Sermon was delivered by the Pengiran Anak Haji Mohamed Alam Mosque Affairs Officer. The Friday Sermon among other matters touched on advising one another in Islam. The Friday Prayer was led by Awang Haji Jaya bin Haji Yahya, before departing the Pengiran Anak Haji Mohamed Alam Mosque, His Majesty and His Majesty's sons received junjung ziarah from the congregants.
