Oxlade-Chamberlain Linked With £35m Liverpool Move As Sharks Circle Arsenal

The football world's gossip mill is in full swing, and Transfer Talk is monitoring the whispers ahead of all the summer moves. Check out the latest deals here.

Reds ready to shell out £35m for the Ox

It's been a rough week for Arsenal, and their state of turmoil appears to only be enticing their rivals to take advantage.

Liverpool, who look likely to beat the Gunners to one of the vital Champions League spots, are planning to aggressively pursue Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain in the summer, according to the Telegraph.

While focus on potential departures has largely centred on Alexis Sanchez -- more on him later -- and Mesut Ozil, Oxlade-Chamberlain also has just 12 months to run on his contract.

Arsene Wenger's team, in an attempt to buy some time on negotiations to sort out a renewal, have slapped a £35 million price tag on the 23-year-old.

The figure will not deter Jurgen Klopp though, who is eager to add the versatile midfielder to his squad, and by meeting that aforementioned fee, the Gunners may reluctantly sanction the move.

Oxlade-Chamberlain could be one of many

But that's not the only transfer whisper emanating from the Emirates.

Calls are growing ever louder for Wenger to walk away, yet the actual prospect of that remains unlikely, with the Mirror detailing an extensive summer overhaul once the French manager pens a new two-year deal.

The report claims the Gunners will accumulate as much as £100m from ditching the likes of Oxlade-Chamberlain, Ozil, Olivier Giroud, Jack Wilshere and David Ospina.

Once the exits have been sorted the fun will begin to freshen up the squad: new signings could include Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette, Celtic duo Kieran Tierney and Moussa Dembele, Palace wing wizard Wilfried Zaha -- who helped down Arsenal on Monday -- and either Jordan Pickford or Jack Butland to push Petr Cech between the sticks.

While Wenger will hang about, he will not be completely entrusted to splash up to £200m, as he will be forced to work with a new director of football -- with Arsenal great Marc Overmars potentially returning or Borussia Dortmund's Michael Zorc, who is also rated highly.

City intensify Alexis pursuit

But wait, there's more Arsenal rumours!

The Star, the Express and the Sun all report that Alexis Sanchez is now a prime target for Pep Guardiola, with Manchester City ready to test Arsenal's resolve with just one year to run on the Chilean's contract.

The 28-year-old would cost around £50m and Guardiola will hope to beat out Chelsea to reunite with the player he previously worked with at Barcelona.

The Gunners' demise appears to have intensified Sanchez's frustrations at the Emirates and with such doubt surrounding Wenger's future, a move away for the two-time Copa America champion remains a distinct possibility.

The Mirror believes Sanchez will stay though, with the prospect of leaving on a free should the situation at the Emirates not drastically improve.

Torino begin Hart extension

Joe Hart has enjoyed a beneficial loan with Torino but his future remains unclear aside from the likelihood that Guardiola will not give him another chance at Manchester City.

Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport claims the Granata are to begin discussions with City about making the England No. 1's stay in Serie A permanent.

Claudio Bravo has proven to be a disastrous signing so far, with Willy Caballero back between the sticks, but Hart has two more years on his deal, hence Torino looking to initiate a deal this summer.

Tap-ins

- AC Milan will close the deal for their Chinese takeover on Wednesday and Corriere dello Sport claims that with it will come the first signing of the new era: Sead Kolasinac.

Arsenal have recently been linked with the Schalke left-back, while Chelsea bid for the Bosnia international in January, but it seems as if the Rossoneri have done enough to win him over on a free transfer.

- West Brom are looking into the possibility of signing Watford captain Troy Deeney, with the Star detailing how Tony Pulis wants to take advantage of a recent fallout between the Hornets star and manager Walter Mazzarri.

Salomon Rondon could move to the Chinese Super League at the end of the season, which means the Baggies could be on the lookout for a new striker and the 28-year-old fits the bill.
