Tutongku Ceria Programme

TUTONG
The Tutongku Ceria programme, which was jointly conducted by the Tutong District Office and the Tutong Municipal Department in collaboration with other government agencies, non-government organisations, Mukim and Village Consultative Councils in the district as well as the private sector, is an extension of the Car-Free Day initiative and the Bandarku Ceria programme held in Bandar Seri Begawan.
The programme is one of the government's initiatives to strengthen the family institution, open up opportunities for small and medium entrepreneurs and encourage a healthy lifestyle. A 16-kilometre cycling event was held this morning around Tutong town.
Among those taking part in the cycling event were Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Retired Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd. Yussof, Minister of Culture Youth and Sports; Yang Berhormat Dato Paduka Awang Haji Ali bin Apong, Minister of Primary Resources and Tourism and Dato Paduka Awang Haji Mohd. Roselan bin Haji Mohd. Daud, Deputy Minister at the Prime Minister's Office. The event which began in front of the Tutong river jetty, passed through several government buildings and landmarks around Tutong town. Also present were members of the Legislative Council, Permanent Secretaries at the Ministry of Home Affairs and Ministry of Culture Youth and Sports, and the Tutong District Officer.
Also held were One Village One Product (1K1P) sales, galleries of the Tutong District's (1K1P), Prisons Department as well as small and medium entrepreneurs involving the district's youth.
Earlier, a mass Fardhu Subuh prayer and a tazkirah or short talk were held at the Hassanal Bolkiah Mosque in Tutong town. The talk, entitled Health in Islam, was delivered by Haji Fansuri
