Information Department's Young Friends Programme

It is vital to get close to youths, especially young students to help them become aware of current developments apart from to instil the nationhood spirit and social responsibility. The student can also act as agents in disseminating information in a positive and effective way to their peers.

 

This is among the aims of the Information Department's Young Friends Programme which was held yesterday at the Chung Hwa Middle School in Bandar Seri Begawan. Present was Awang Denis Ho Mun Tai, Director of Politeknik Brunei. More than 260 students from Year 9 and 10 attended the programme.

 

The students were given a briefing on nationhood entitled 'Menghayati Bendera dan Lagu Kebangsaan Negara Brunei Darussalam' or Appreciating the Brunei Darussalam's national flag and national anthem which was delivered by Dayang Hajah Hamsah binti Datu Kerna Haji Jaya, Information Officer, Head of Nationhood Unit of the Community Relation and Nationhood Section. The programme also gave an awareness of civic and nationhood spirit specifically the youth towards the formation of a positive mindset.
