A police officer had what looks like his best ever day at work (or ever) after rescuing a pair of miniature goats.
Louis and Mowgli had escaped from their home and started wandering the streets – sparking a mission to apprehend them and bring them back to the fold.
Sergeant Daniel Fitzpatrick was the hero they needed, tracking them down to a stranger’s garage in Belfast, Maine, where they were eating cat food.
Then he ‘drove around looking for their owner’, which if you look at the photos, actually means ‘he drove around having the time of his life with two goats in the back, stopping now and then to take photos.’
He used a lead to bring the pygmy goats into the car, handing them carrots and celery to keep them happy.
Then they cruised on the open road.
The owner’s daughter saw Sgt Fitzpatrick’s Facebook post and later picked up the pair yesterday.
Sgt Fitzpatrick called the animals in the back of the patrol car ‘good company’ and said he might add goats to the next police budget.
