His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam yesterday afternoon presided over the swearing-in ceremony for the newly appointed Judicial Commissioner of the Supreme Court.

 

Present at the ceremony were His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister's Office (PMO); His Royal Highness Prince Mohamed Bolkiah; His Royal Highness Prince Haji Sufri Bolkiah and His Royal Highness Prince Haji Jefri Bolkiah.

 

The ceremony began with the reading of the Letter of Appointment by the Grand Chamberlain, Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Penggawa Laila Bentara Istiadat Diraja Dalam Istana Pengiran Haji Alauddin bin Pengiran Paduka Tuan Pengiran Haji Abu Bakar.

 

His Majesty then witnessed the recital of the oath by Conrad Seagroatt as the new non-resident Judicial Commissioner of the Supreme Court for a four-year term. He also serves as one of the Justice of the Court of Appeal.

 


His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, together with the members of the Royal Family during the swearing-in ceremony of the newly appointed Judicial Commissioner of the Supreme Court.

 

Also present at the ceremony were the Chief Justice of the Brunei Supreme Court, Dato Seri Paduka Haji Kifrawi bin Dato Paduka Haji Kifli; the Attorney General, Datin Seri Paduka Hajah Hayati binti Pehin Orang Kaya Shahbandar Dato Seri Paduka Haji Mohd Salleh; the President of the Court of Appeal of Brunei Darussalam, John Barry Mortimer; Judicial Commissioner of the Supreme Court of Brunei Darussalam, Michael Peter Burrell; High Court Judge of the Brunei Supreme Court, Dato Paduka Steven Chong Wan Oon; High Court Judge of the Brunei Supreme Court, Dato Paduka Haji Hairol Arni bin Haji Abdul Majid; and Judicial Commissioner and Chief Registrar of the Supreme Court, Pengiran Hajah Rostaina binti Pengiran Haji Duraman; and Permanent Secretary (Law and Welfare) at the Prime Minister's Office, Dato Paduka Haji Mohammad Juanda bin Haji Abdul Rashid.
