BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN

Love is very important in the development of a happy and harmonious family. Yesterday's Friday Sermon focused on the formation of a family institution based on the teachings of Al-Quran and Al-Sunnah with a strong devotion towards Allah Subhanahu Wata'ala. Parents too need to stress on the importance of akidah and good moral behaviour for their children to practise to ensure their compliance with Islamic teachings.

In the sermon, the Imam also reminded that children to have their respective role and responsibility. It is obligatory for every child to respect and honour his or her parents, remain loyal to them and obey them. When talking to their parents, children should speak politely and not offend them. In such a way, children will show their gratefulness towards their parents who had taught them and brought them up. Children who have grown up and have their own families should continue to care for their parents' condition and needs by at least asking, from time to time, how they are doing. It is also the responsibility of grown-ups to spend time with their parents and ensure their well-being. Verily, the parents' care and sacrifices for their children cannot be easily repaid.
