His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam has consented to send a congratulatory message to His Excellency Moon Jae-in, President of the Republic of Korea following his recent victory in the election and appointment as President of the Republic of Korea.

In the message, His Majesty expressed that Brunei Darussalam and the Republic of Korea enjoyed warm and long-standing cooperation in many areas including energy, ICT and people-to-people exchanges, and looked forward to working closely with His Excellency in strengthening the much-valued bilateral ties between the two countries. His Majesty also looked forward to deepening the regional cooperation in ASEAN, particularly through their role as the Country Coordinator for ASEAN-Republic of Korea Dialogue Relations for 2018-2021. In ending the message, His Majesty conveyed his kindest regards and best wishes for His Excellency's success in his new post.
