The National Assembly (NA) meeting on May10 approved a draft-amended Law on the People’s Prosecutor, which will focus on better protection of state and society interests.

The latest amendment to the law was proposed at the ongoing 3rd Ordinary Session of the National Assembly’s 8th Legislatureby President of the Public Prosecutor’s Office Khamsane Souvong on May 10.
Some articles of the 2009 draft-amended Law on the People’s Prosecutor had been found to be incomplete in some aspects. Thus, the content in some articles has been reviewed and added to, so as to respond to the realistic conditions and be effective, Mr Khamsane pointed out.

The current amendments to the law started in the end of 2016.
