Prince Mateen Attends Inauguration Ceremony

His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Mateen as the personal representative of his Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Mahrum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, attended the inauguration ceremony of the new building of the Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies at Oxford, United Kingdom yesterday.

 

Upon arrival, His Royal Highness was greeted by Dr. Farhan Nizami, Director of the Oxford Islamic Studies and His Royal Highness Prince Turki Al-Faisal bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, Chairman of the Trustee, the Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies.

 

His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Mateen also attended a reception at the Oman Hall. During the reception, His Royal Highness had the chance to meet with His Royal Highness Prince Charles, the Prince of Wales and other special guests including His Majesty Sultan Muhammad V, Yang Di-Pertuan Agong of Malaysia; His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, Crown Prince of Bahrain; His Royal Highness Prince Sultan bin Salman Al-Saud from Saudi Arabia; and His Highness Sayyid Haitam bin Tariq Al Said from the Sultanate of Oman before proceeding to a luncheon.

 

The launching of the new building commenced with a speech by His Royal Highness Prince Charles and followed by the official plaque launching of the new building.

 

Prior to the launching, Dr Farhan Nizami delivered a welcoming remarks, followed by a speech by His Royal Highness Prince Turki Al-Said.
