Discussion sessions provide opportunities to get to know matters that need to be given due attention. This was voiced by Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Kerna Dato Seri Setia Doctor Haji Awang Abu Bakar bin Haji Apong, Minister of Home Affairs during the discussion session with Penghulu Mukims and village chiefs in the Tutong district, this morning. According to Yang Berhormat Pehin, the session is the continuity of the previous discussion with members of the legislative council together with ministries prior to the Legislative Council Meeting in March. During the discussion session, Yang Berhormat Pehin explained, members of the legislative council can find out about the government plans as well as expound on problems and issues faced by the residents.
According to Yang Berhormat Pehin, during the Legislative Council Meeting, everyone heard and witnessed from the mass media the discussion centring on the National Budget Allocations for 2017/2018 which allowed the legislative council members to deliberate on the government plans aside from raising proposals, voicing problems and issues pertaining to the well-being of the people and residents in the country. The discussion is to review matters and proposals raised and deliberated on during the Legislative Council Meeting. It is hoped that the team, uses a whole of nation approach in order to find a solution to the problem.
The discussion is hoped will be able to further strengthen relationship, understanding and cooperation between the Ministry of Home Affairs with grassroot leaders in the Tutong district. Also present were Yang Berhormat Awang Haji Abdul Wahab bin Apong, member of the Legislative Council as the Penghulu of Mukim Tanjong Maya and Awang Abdul Mutalib bin Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Setia Dato Paduka Haji Mohammad Yusof, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Home Affairs.
