Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Rashidah Sa'adatul Bolkiah, yesterday attended a ceremony to witness the presentation of warrant cards and tenderfoot badges to Girl Guides Association of Brunei Darussalam (PPPBD), which was held at Sayyidina Hasan Secondary School.

The PPPBD Chief Commissioner, Dayang Hajah Siti Hafsah binti Haji Abdul Halim and committee members were on hand to welcome Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Rashidah Sa'adatul Bolkiah.

The event began with a recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah led by Dayang Hajah Fatimah binti Haji Abdul Ghani, followed by the national anthem and Girl Guides songs. Later, the reading of the 'Oath of Allegiance' was led by Dayang Hajah Nafsiah binti Haji Muhammad and Dayang Hajah Esah binti Haji Mohammad.

In the event, 275 new members had received their tenderfoot badges and cards, comprising of eight youth leaders, seven adult leaders received the warrant cards whereas the four youth leaders and two adults leaders received pre-warrants card.

The ceremony then saw Her Royal Highness presenting the tenderfoot badges and warrant cards to the recipients.

The presentation of warrant cards and tenderfoot badges is among the annual activities conducted by the association in recognition of new membership.

Before they are given the badges, new members need to go through the tenderfoot test three months after their membership.
