​The reading of Surah Yassin and Tahlil ceremony which are commonly held in the country before the upcoming Ramadan continue to be held by various parties. The Ministry of Religious Affairs and its Departments yesterday held such a ceremony for the late parents of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien and Al-Marhumah Duli Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Damit.

Present was Yang Berhormat Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Othman, Minister of Religious Affairs. The recitation of Surah Yassin was led by Yang Dimuliakan Pehin Khatib Dato Paduka Haji Awang Emran bin Haji Kunchang. Also present was Dato Paduka Awang Haji Abdul Mokti bin Haji Mohd Daud, Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs. More than 100 congregants attended the ceremony.
