Laos will organise the ASEAN Business Awards (ABA) Laos 2017 with aims to select representatives of Laos to participate in the ABA 2017 awards ceremony, which is scheduled to be held in Okada Manila, the Philippines on September 6.

The ABA Laos 2017 awarding ceremony will take place in Vientiane Capital on 27 October, Mr Thanongsinh Kanlagna, Vice President of Lao National Chamber of Commerce and Industry said at a press conference on May 22.

 The ASEAN Business Awards Laos 2017 purports to recognise outstanding Lao enterprises and use them as champions to spread knowledge about ASEAN Economic Community, said Mr Thanongsinh.

He said the ABA aims to inspire and rally Lao businesses to participate in the integration process and become key players in the ASEAN market.

On the bandwagon of growth and prosperity of the ASEAN Economic Community, the ABA Laos 2017 encourages strengthening competitiveness of Laos in the AEC.

 This year’s ABA Laos 2017 includes the Lao Priority Integration Sectors Excellence Awards for E-ASEAN/ICT, textiles, transport/logistics, wood-based, infrastructure, agro-food, energy, tourism, handicraft and retail, as well as the SME Excellence Awards for growth, employment, innovation and Corporate Social Responsibility and the SMS Excellence Awards for Friends of Laos, Young Entrepreneur Award and Women Entrepreneur Award, according to Mr Thanongsinh.

 ABA Laos 2017 will be a validation of quality with an esteemed panel of judges in cooperation with KPMG, guaranteeing contribution towards quality, excellence, growth, innovation, employment, a commitment towards female leadership and young entrepreneurs, being part of a group of ASEAN thought leaders and empowering SMEs.
