BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN

 

A local man was sentenced to 13-months imprisonment after failing to pay a fine of 24 thousand 5 hundred dollars for an offence of possessing cigarettes of various brand, chicken wings and chicken tails.

 

36-year old, Shahruni Bin Haji Shadan, was apprehended at the parking area in front of Sungai Lampai Fire Station on 17th of January 2013 after possessing 74 cartons of cigarettes of various brands, 10 kilograms of raw chicken wings and 2 kilograms of raw chicken tails.

 

Meanwhile, 56-year old local woman, Siti Masturah Binti Abdullah @ Peranti Ak Enting, was pleaded guilty after possessing 65 packets of cigarettes of various brands. She was fined 2-thousand, 5 hundred dollars or 2 months imprisonment in default. The accused was ordered to pay 2 hundred dollars every month starting 30th May 2017 until the fine is settled. All goods were confiscated to be destroyed.
