Setting of Maximum Prices on Selected Food Items

The Department of Economic Planning and Development (JPKE), Prime Minister's Office with the cooperation of the Department of Agriculture and Agrifood, Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism have set the maximum prices (ceiling prices) on several selected food items in conjunction with the festive season of 1438 Hijrah / 2017. The setting of maximum prices on the selected food items will begin on 1st of Ramadhan 1438 Hijrah until the 7th of Syawal 1438 Hijrah.
The objective of setting of maximum prices is to control the prices of selected food items in particular those used as the main ingredients for the preparation of food during the festive season. The selected food items are:
- Whole chicken
- Eggs
- Butter
- Margarine
- Ghee
- Condensed, evaporated and cream milk
- Flour
- Chocolate hazelnut spread
- condensed, cream and powdered santan
- Chilli shrimp floss and popia skin

The public are advise to practice the concept of "Smart Consumer" that is to compare prices before making any purchase in order to get the best and worthy price.
