Police Tuck Drunk Man into Bed and Take Selfie With Him

Drunk reveller Reece was tucked into bed by police officers who took a selfie

A drunk man was tucked into bed by police officers who posed for a selfie next to his bed after giving him a lift home.

The grinning policeman and woman crouch at the end of the bed while the bleary-eyed reveller, named only as Reece, gives a thumbs up from under his duvet.

He wrote on Facebook: ‘So was just looking through my phone and turns out these good ***** took some banger selfies after they took my drunk ass home.’

Tasmania Police confirmed that it was its officers in the picture taken on Reece’s phone during the early hours of Sunday morning, reports Australia’s 9news.com.au.

But the force warned drinkers not to use them as a late-night taxi service.

Senior Sergeant Craig Fox, from Tasmania Police’s Northern District, urged party and pub-goers to prebook a taxi or use public transport to get home.

He said: ‘Make a plan about how you will get home before you have a drink.

‘Then there’s no risk to you, your family, friends or others on the road.’

But he added: ‘However, police are always looking for a place of safety for anyone who is affected by alcohol.

‘On this occasion, police were contacted by a taxi company for assistance in getting the man home.

‘When police arrived, they found out his address, took the man home and waited for a friend to arrive to look after him.

‘Because he was a bit worse for wear, our officers took the opportunity to record the moment with a selfie in the likely event he could not remember how he got home.’
