Facebook has unveiled a new reaction emoji – the rainbow flag – in time for Pride celebrations around the world.

The social media giant has allowed users to share their fabulous joy by responding to posts with a pride flag.

Users can respond using the flag that was first created by Gilbert Baker in 1978.

The flag is often used as a celebration of the community by LGBTI individuals and their allies.

It comes as the world gets ready to celebrate Pride Month.

Facebook said in a public post: ‘We believe in building a platform that supports all communities.

‘So we’re celebrating love and diversity this Pride by giving you a special reaction to use during Pride Month.’

But it’s not just a good way to show your support for Pride.

Activists have been trolling controversial Judge Roy Moore, who is accused of holding homophobic views, by flag-reacting to his posts.

His senate campaign page has had thousands of flag reacts on every post he has made.
