Traffic wardens are known for sometimes being a bit overzealous, but this seems a bit too far.
It’s the strange moment that a traffic-warden attempted to give a ticket to a man driving nothing less than a giant foot.
The bizarre scene was captured in Balham, south London and saw the warden issuing the ticket to the driver of the giant foot, who was seen wearing a silver jump suit and crash helmet.
But if you’re thinking that the whole thing seems a little bit too strange to be true, then you’d be right.
It was a promotional stunt by the team behind the Wandsworth Arts Fringe Festival ahead of the event in May, which promises 16 days of music and theatrical entertainment.
The Bureau of Silly Ideas group took the foot on a trip around the area and it’s likely to appear again before the festival begins.
However, the foot’s arrival caused quite the stir among locals.
Posting a picture of the foot, Wandsworth Police tweeted: ‘Spotted near Balham Tube, a typical day in Wandsworth.’
Leigh Barnes said: ‘Just ventured outside and I kid you not there is a spaceman riding a giant foot up the high street in Balham.’
Bizarre, yes – but also uniquely British.
We could see it catching on.
